Music to Art To #9 – Love, Peace & Trance
I don't have much background on this 1995 album, other than the fact that a favorite Japanese musician of mine, Haruomi Hosono, was involved in it's production.
This album is dripping with all kinds of new-agey vibes and it fits right into the brief hippy resurgence that happened in the early 90's. It's hard to say if the songs on this album were produced with a sense of irony, or if the creators were fully invested in a lifestyle of "Love, Peace & Trance". Feels like it could be a bit of both.
In any case, the album is a beautiful work of flowing ambiance, and bears Hosono's typical mark of excellent song-craft, production, fun and listen-ability. Nice vocals and lush sonic environments await. Peace & Love ✌
